Skills Validation Initiative


Competency analysis results will lead to new insights about relative value and redundancy within in a curriculum.  Though the results are useful and informative, the process is not complete.  Analysis also creates a profile of your curriculum in a common competency language that makes the conversation between educators and practitioners more productive.  


After review and clean-up by faculty, practitioners of the target occupation will receive an online survey that allows them to rate the frequency, criticality, and mastery level for each of the competencies in the profile.  The result is a fully industry-validated competency profile for development of new curriculum or revision of existing awards.


Unlike other curriculum alignment methods, Competency Validation can reach beyond your advisors to other experts locally or anywhere.  It does so in a way that respects your advisors value and time because it uses the web and pre-populated competencies that faculty already have reviewed.  Other validation methods also fail to map competencies fully to outcomes and courses the way that Competency Validation does.
